“There was once a lonely girl, who’d spend hours to even days at a time in her imagination. She is creative, making her worlds how she wants it to be where one can have countless adventures as if they were real. In one case being, the girl slaying a volcanic beast for burning down her home and taking her mother away from her.”
Welcome back to Design Blox Studio: Character Design Analysis! Last time, we talked about Molly Blyndeff from Epithet Erased and this time we’re going to most talk about her older sister, Lorelai Bylndeff! However, for the sake of theming and characters, we’ll bring up Molly on occasion where it’s needed along with their other family members.

Lorelai Blyndeff is the older sibling of Molly and they are similar but also have their differences beyond their Epithets. For one thing, Lorelai’s animal motif, that being a rabbit, is more “louder” than Molly’s subtle bear motif. Which makes sense when you consider how both use their Epithets, Lorelai’s Epithet, Augment, allows her to augment reality into her “Dream Bubbles” to where Lorelai basks in them. Molly uses her Epithet, Dumb, where it’d be practical/useful in her day to day, dumbing down noises to avoiding damage. In fact, Molly in Season 1 mentions she uses her own Epithet to unmake what Lorelai summons to avoid damages on their family property.
Unlike her sister Molly or their father Martin, Lorelai lacks the hair stars in her design. However, she has the colors from the stars through freckles all over her body. In addition, Loralei has the button eye design like Molly but has 3 circles, instead of the 4 circles Molly has. With how the circles in Lorelai’s eyes are drawn, they can also resemble the head of a rabbit.
Lorelai’s outfit also looks like a witch’s attire, which is emphasized more when she becomes “Scorched Lorelai.” Although her rabbit motif remains there and when she’s in her knight attire as well.

Going back to Epithets, while not discussed prior, it makes sense to bring up now. As previously stated, Lorelai forms hers as “Dream Bubbles” while Molly’s, when used for silencing, operates in a similar shape… Hm…

As implied with above, despite the differences, the two sisters were once very close. Going back to Molly’s hoodie being a bear, Lorelai actually had a matching pair, even if the animal for that was a rabbit. The reason why their sibling relationship got strained was due to the death of their mother caused by a their house catching fire, which Lorelai blames on herself for causing in the first place.
(Notice the matching hoodies in the old photo but also the shadow being over their late mother, Calliope Blyndeff. Also note, the blond Lorelai’s hair also showcases her rabbit motif.)

Even so, Lorelai “copes” with it by neglecting her store shifts often to go play in her Dream Bubbles but doing so and with their father neglecting parental responsibilities as well, both put a strain on Molly’s relationship on both of her family members. Lorelai is very secretly lonely and misses her younger sister (as evidenced by the “Say No!” lyric video of the opening song for Prison of Plastic as well as her character card in the Kickstarter video.)
That is all we have for this session with Design Blox Studio Character Design Analysis! Apologizes for ending this one on a sour note but we recommend checking out Season 1 of Epithet Erased, the sequel audiobook and follow the team for more updates to see how the story is and continues! Hope to see you on our next post~!
